Past ElectionsCharities Review 2009These pages give an overview of what the charities achieved in 2008 our what our money would be spent on in 2009, were they to continue to receive our support. Domestic Headway, East London - review 2009 A local charity providing a better quality of life and rehabilitation to those affected by brain injury. International charities Seeds of Hope, Peru - review 2009 Based in a rural part of Peru, Seeds of Hope provides support and education to enable disadvantaged children to attend school. Salaam Balak Trust - review 2009 A charity based in Delhi providing a home and education for street children. Coalition to Stop the Use of Child Soldiers, Sierra Leone - review 2009 Supporting rehablitation efforts for young girls affected by conflict in the Democratic Rep of Congo. Election 2008As with last year we would like to support 4 charities in 2008; 1 domestic, and 3 international ones. Now it looks like Headway is going to have a fairly easy time of it. But we think that Headways proposal for this year is good enough to merit a bye! See below. To decide between the international charities please email trustees@onepercentscheme.org with your 3 choices, given in rank order. i.e. First is your most fovourite, third is your least favourite. (Voting this way leaves less chance of a tie) Your votes must be in by Sunday 10th February. Domestic charities Headway, East London 2008 A local charity providing a better quality of life and rehabilitation to those affected by brain injury. International charities Seeds of Hope, Peru 2008 Based in a rural part of Peru, Seeds of Hope provides support and education to enable disadvantaged children to attend school. Salaam Balaak Trust, Delhi 2008 A charity based in Delhi providing a home and education for street children. Organisation for the Regeneration of the Environment, Haiti 2008 More than its title suggests, our money would be supporting a community primary school in financial difficulty. Coalition to Stop the Use of Child Soldiers, Sierra Leone 2008 Supporting rehablitation efforts for young girls affected by conflict in the Democratic Rep of Congo.
