To read full article click here SBT Q108. Over this first quarter our program has focused on providing life skills and educating to the children. There were six special sessions organized on the topics like coping with emotions, how to say no to drugs, communication skills etc. The quarter also saw a change in leadership. To strengthen the program, a senior staff member who is an expert on community mobilization and field work was been given responsibility to take care of the project as coordinator. The quality of service provision to the children, rapport with the community stake holders and authorities like the police is been improved.

Health awareness activities carried out with the children on various subjects like; health, hygiene, STD/STIs, skin diseases. Staff administered first aid as and when required and sick children were referred to the health centres, Children screened for STIs and referred for Voluntary Testing for HIV.
In the process of counselling many children were motivated and convinced to go back home. The staff took the initiative to arrange their tickets and other arrangements like food on their way and sent back home. (Note. the data is not with me right now and will send you soon if it is required). Also, many children were referred to full care residential programmes within SBT. Many thanks to your members for your continued help!
