October 2007 Newsletter

Lots to get through today class so no talking and please take notes. The tentacles of OPS have reached out to all our charities around the world and they have responded with news and information on how they have been doing. I pass this on for your consideration.

Seeds of Hope - October 2007

.././shared/SeedskidsMs Anna Ray has some news for us on Seeds of Hope, our charity in Peru which helps to get very poor chilcren there into education and to support them once they are at school. Its a real family affair this newsletter with Seeds of Hope as Anna's brother, Matt, is soon to run the New York Marathon and is looking for donations for the charity at the same time. It makes me a little ashamed of my family to be honest. If only we were all like the Rays. To read Anna's update and find out more about the marathon, please click on the link above.

SBT- October 2007

Uncle Marcus, as he often asks young children to refer to him, is our man on the street with the Salaam Baalak Trust. To read his report on what they've been up to, please click on the link above.

Coalition Against the use of Child Soldiers - October 2007

.././shared/Ishmael BeahAnother promising few months for the Coalition Against the use of Child Soliders. My Man in Amsterdam, Mr James Etchells, has found out how they have been getting on. You can read his report by clicking on the link above. I also mentioned in the last newsletter about Ishmael Beah, a former child soldier from Sierra Leone who has written a book about his experiences. More information about his life and book can be found at the following link: www.alongwaygone.com.

Headway - October 2007

.././shared/MarcusGunsUncle Marcus is a real busy beaver you know. By day, he is Corporate Man, hastily organising hostile takeovers of world banks and arranging the destruction of the indigenous Mabuto tribe in the depths of the Amazon. But by night, he is King Hippy, burning incense by the bucketload and discussing the latest in hemp designs and tye-dye T-shirts. It is in the latter capacity that he acts as a contact for not one, but three of our charities. One of which is Headway. His report is above. In the picture on the left, you can see him in his role as a Colombian drug runner.

News Felch - October 2007

.././shared/ChavsA truly wondeful felch in store for you this newsletter. We have news on the OPS Tandem Bike Race and the continuing adventures of Mr Ross Dickinson. Scenes like those on the left could soon be a thing of the past if he has his way. Read on to find out more.
