FareShare are continuing to grow into one of the UK's most successful
charities, developing with an incredible rapidity. They are now
sending out food to no less than 320 organisations across the
country. Currently, they are putting a lot of focus into their "Meal
Appeal" – a concept which works towards providing a substantial
Christmas dinner for disadvantaged people across the UK. Last
year, the Meal Appeal was a huge success, catering for 12,000
people who, otherwise, would never have had a Christmas dinner.
As part of its work to address food poverty, FareShare have developed
the Eat Well Road Show food training programme, holding events
around the UK. Our donations this year are being put specifically
towards these roadshows – paying for over 1 of these events. These
events are aimed at providing quality information to all people
moving from hostels into their own private accommodation, giving
them tips and advice on how to eat well on a budget. So far this
year, similar Road Shows have been held in Brighton, Dundee, London
and Southampton. FareShare are pleased to announce that they will
be holding further Eat Well Road Shows in Birmingham on Tuesday
12th September and in London on Thursday 28th September.
