OPS looks at renovating Nyitoe-Zupke's health centre

Perhaps one of the most important aspects of the One Percent Scheme is that - instead of piling your money into some huge, faceless charity like Oxfam and then having absolutely no idea where it goes - we support causes where we can see the tangible effects our donations are creating.

That is why we have been afforded rather a unique opportunity with the village of Nyitoe-Zukpe : a small village in the north of Togo. If you go to http://www.onepercentscheme.org/VGlob.htm and read Josie Kaye's description of the area, you will quickly understand just how underdeveloped the village is. Even a donation as small as £150 can make a world of difference in Nyitoe-Zupke, and - over the next year - we will certainly be changing lives.

Working hand-in-hand with Volontaire Globalisation, the One Percent Scheme has taken on a discrete project within the village, which focuses on renovating the village health centre - basically, the closest thing the area has to a hospital. Over the coming year, one third of all the money you donate will go directly into this project, providing much-needed expenses for construction work and medical equipment.
